Red Tent Gatherings… Guided Support group for new moms and dads
Do you have a story to tell about giving birth? Was it difficult, amazing, traumatizing, disappointing, empowering, transforming? Are you pregnant and feeling overwhelmed or nervous about your upcoming birth? Are you still in the process of working through your birth? Are there things you would do differently in your next birth? Did your birth help you to grow as a person? Do you enjoy listening to birth stories? If so, consider attending a Red Tent gathering. Women sharing the experience of birth… A Red Tent is a circle of women, 5-10 people, who are willing to think deeply about the experience of giving birth, share a bit about how that experience has affected our lives and listen to one another, without giving feedback or advice.
These events can be a powerful way of processing a difficult birth, thinking about how giving birth affects our whole selves, sharing a triumphant birth story, and holding all these stories together in an intimate setting.
Our Next Red Tent Gathering During this time of “social distancing” all Red Tents will take place virtually.
Our next Red Tent gathering is Saturday August 8, 2-4pm (birthing people and partners are welcome on this date) Please contact me for more details.
Let's Celebrate the Journey to Motherhood! Unlike a Baby Shower, which is more baby and gift focused, the Blessingway is a unique way to honor the pregnant woman and celebrate her transition into motherhood.
This special mother-centered gathering offers close friends and family a fresh approach to honoring, supporting, nurturing, and encouraging mothers-to-be. Ultimately, mothers preparing for birth need a circle of support. This ceremony before birth is to gather, acknowledge, and call to duty the mother’s circle of support.
You supply the guest list and we will take care of the rest to ensure a memorable ritual.
Where do Blessingways come from? The Blessingway ritual is inspired by American Indian tradition. The family and tribe would pray for the help of spiritual forces to safely guide the recipient on her path, and would offer their prayers and symbolic gifts of power and meaning. This ritual was a way to ceremonially mark significant transitions in life, in a spiritual and meaningful way.
The package costs $250 and includes:
